Wrexham’s co-owner Ryan Reynolds reiterated his belief that Wrexham can aspire to play in the Premier League within a decade, after the team more than held their own against a Sheffield United on course to return to the top flight.
Reynolds, who jetted in to see the fourth-round tie, hinted before the tie that he and co-owner Rob McElhenney are at the club for the long-term and said that there were ingredients to reach the ultimate level.
The Canadian said: ‘In 10 years’ time, the plan is Premier League. Why not? No one has ever done anything great in this world thinking, ‘let’s go halfway’.

The result continued the club’s tradition of cup feats, which manager Phil Parkinson last night paying tribute to the way they came back from a goal down and early injuries to two defenders.
After United’s late equaliser, he said: I have mixed emotions as you can imagine but we were outstanding.
‘Character. Heart. Quality, as well. Some of the composure we showed in possession was excellent. I thought we showed real class on the ball.’
Injury to defender Aaron Hayden is a blow, as the club missed him during their run-in last season when they lost in a play-off semi-final against Grimsby Town.

Parkinson hinted that Cup revenues may help him bring in reinforcements and possibly loan signings. They are scheduled to play eight games in the next four weeks.
‘As much I was enjoying it at the back of my mind I was thinking that we’re going to have to bring in some reinforcements,’ Parkinson said.
‘We’ll have a good think and we’ll make sure the Cup run enhances our promotion campaign and doesn’t detract from it. The money we’ve generated from this competition will give us resources, if we feel we need to, to bring some players in.
Blades manager Paul Heckingbottom said midfielder Sander Berge was due to be part of the FA Cup squad that travelled to Wrexham but was withdrawn following a request not to play him.
The Norwegian international is currently the subject of interest from a host of Premier League clubs, including Fulham.
