Arsenal are increasing the price of their season ticket by five per cent next season – and it will include four games fewer than 2022-23.

Gunners season-ticket holders currently pay up front for 26 home games each season.

Those include all 19 in the Premier League as well as two home matches in the FA Cup and five home matches in European competition.

A rebate is given if the club fails to meet these requirements but they have now shifted plans for 2023-24 following consultation with fans.

Next season, season tickets will include all 19 home league games, with three additional European matches.

Arsenal season ticket holders will be obligated to pay for four less games up front next season

Season ticket prices in lower tier will rise by six per cent while the upper tier is up four per cent

A club statement read: ‘The move follows ongoing feedback from season ticket holders who want more flexibility around attending matches and to support our desire to make more tickets available to our growing membership base.

‘Removing the four cup credits from the season ticket will also make up to 150,000 additional match tickets available for members to purchase next season.’

While the number of required games is going down, prices are going up by five per cent for a general admission season ticket.

In the lower tier season-ticket prices are rising by six per cent and four per cent in the upper tier.

Arsenal, who look guaranteed to return to the Champions League as they sit top of the Premier League table at this moment, have told fans that next season they are looking at a £113 reduction compared to had they been in the competition this season.

‘If we qualify for the Europa League next season, it will leave full-price adult season ticket holders paying on average £76 less than they are currently paying this season,’ it adds.

The flexibility of the new system appeals to fans and from Arsenal’s perspective they are eager to revamp ticketing after revealing they blocked 100,000 ‘suspected bots’ from purchasing tickets in recent weeks.

Demand for Arsenal tickets is high but there is the inevitable risk of ‘bots’ bulk buying tickets and selling above face value.

The extra flexibility appeals to fans and it is said more members will have a chance for tickets

Arsenal added that ‘a significant number of season ticket and membership accounts have also been banned for suspicious touting activity’.

The Gunners are eager to give more younger fans the chance of securing tickets to matches and that is where reductions are being made to prices.

A 25 per cent reduction in the cost of season ticket holders was available up to the age of 21 previously. That has now been extended up to fans aged 24 or below, when buying tickets outside the Family Enclosure.

Arsenal claim the changes made to 2023-24 season tickets will deliver as many as 150,000 additional match tickets for members to buy next season – in a huge boost to non-season ticket holders.

The club increased ticket prices by four per cent for the 2022-23 campaign, the first rise in seven seasons.
