Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has shared a positive injury update with fans on social media, revealing that he is back wearing football boots after two months out on the sidelines.
Eriksen was forced to leave Old Trafford on crutches in January after sustaining an ankle injury during United’s 3-1 FA Cup win against Reading, and scans confirmed the Dane would be out of action for up to three months following Andy Carroll’s reckless challenge.
The 31-year-old, who is now back on grass, took to social media on Wednesday to update fans on the progress he has made.
The first image he shared showed his left leg in a protective boot, while the second picture displayed his injured ankle in trainers.
Finally, the midfielder showed his left ankle back in football boots, captioning the Instagram post: ‘From this, to this, to this’.

Despite ruling Eriksen out of the Red Devils’ FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday, Erik ten Hag urged that the playmaker was ‘about to come back’ – and could be ready to face Newcastle in United’s first match back after the international break on April 2.
‘He won’t be ready for Sunday, but he will be ready in April,’ Ten Hag revealed ahead of his side’s 3-1 win against Fulham.
‘He’s about to come back.’
Eriksen’s return offers Ten Hag a major boost in midfield following the four-match suspension of star man Casemiro, who picked up his second red card of the season against Southampton earlier this month.

United have since relied on emergency loan signing Marcel Sabitzer, who scored in the 3-1 win at Old Trafford, Scott McTominay and Fred in the centre of the park.
Eriksen, who missed Manchester United’s Carabao Cup triumph last month, will hope to play an integral role throughout the remainder of the campaign, as Ten Hag hunts down more silverware during his fruitful debut season at Old Trafford.

Despite falling behind in the title race, United take on Brighton in FA Cup semi-finals and play Sevilla in the last eight of the Europa League next month.
Now 19 points behind league leaders Arsenal, the Red Devils’ primary focus is fending off Tottenham, Newcastle, Liverpool, Brighton and Brentford, who will all be pushing for top four after the international break.
