Southampton have received reassurances they will have no supply issues after their kit manufacturers’ UK distributor went into administration.
Fellow Hummel-sponsored side, Bristol City, brought a premature end to their six-year agreement with the Danish sportswear company last week after distributor Elite Sports Group hit financial trouble at the back end of last year.
That caused stock issues, including concerns about whether there would be enough kits available for players, which prompted the Championship side to terminate their Hummel deal, agree a new partnership with Irish firm O’Neills and start playing in what was due to be next season’s kit now.
They debuted the new pinstripe strip against Hull on Saturday and will wear it for the remainder of the campaign, including Tuesday’s FA Cup tie against Manchester City.
Bristol City’s players will continue to train in Hummel gear but play in the O’Neills-made kit.

Southampton had also been disrupted by similar issues following the situation with Elite Sports Group who were previously Hummel’s exclusive distributor including the stock they had available in the club shop being impacted.
But a deal has been agreed with another ‘UK licence and rights holder’ that Hummel work with, SportsPro, to ensure Southampton continue to receive the required level of kit for both their fans and players throughout the club.
Southampton re-joined forces with Hummel in 2021, agreeing a five-year deal with the company who had previously made their kits between 1987 and 1991.
Southampton are one of 14 English professional and non-league sides who have their kits made by Hummel, a list that also includes Everton and Coventry.
