‘No football identity, no passion, no desire…it’s embarrassing’: Fans swarm to social media to blast Tottenham for their FA Cup exit and call for Daniel Levy ‘finally go’ after ‘another season without a trophy!’

Fans have taken to social media to vent their frustration at Tottenham’s early exit from the FA Cup on Tuesday night.

Spurs suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough after substitute Josh Coburn scored an impressive goal in extra time to win the game.

As a result, Tottenham fans have called for Spurs owner Daniel Levy to be ousted after the club have gone ‘another season without a trophy.

Tottenham suffered a shock defeat to Middlesbrough – seeing them crash out of the FA Cup

Tottenham fans had hoped Antonio Conte would be the man to end their 14-year wait for a trophy. However, they will have to wait at least another year to get their hands on some silverware.

Middlesbrough – who beat Manchester United on penalties at Old Trafford during the last round – managed to steal a 1-0 victory on Tuesday night.

Coburn latched on to Matt Crooks’ pass before firing the ball past Hugo Lloris in the 107th minute of the game.

Tottenham fans were devastated with the result and took to social media to express their anger with the club’s hierarchy.

One fan Tweeted: ‘Another season without a trophy. Not even challenging for one this year. We as a club have been focused on stadium, training grounds, property & it’s a mentality that has infected the squad. Not about success. I’m so fed up. #ENICOut #LevyOut’.

Another added: ‘Levy and co. Checkmate! You have got to go. Finally a manager speaking the truth what we all knew! Clubs stale, players to comfortable. Always changing managers rather than getting the personnel that the managers require. A huge failure and yet again the fans let down! #Levyout’.

One supporter wrote: ‘It doesn’t even surprise me any more @Spursofficial losing mentality throughout the club from top to bottom, please can we change our club moto now as it’s just humiliating. How about ‘average is ok’ or ‘it’s the taking part that counts’ #Levyout’.

Before another said: ‘Goodness gracious! Awful, but no surprise. Mostly average players who occasionally shine but usually can’t control a bag of sand. Sideways, negative football. Woe is me!’.

One fan added: ‘Absolutely Embarrassing. Zero Strategy in terms of Football Identity. The Business Module may well be good but Football wise… No Clue. No Fan culture, no ideas, no passion, no desire, no energy. Pancake Day.. Just flat ‘

Before Tottenham legend Gary Stevens took to social media to ask what was ‘wrong’ with Conte’s players and question where their ‘pride’ was.

He Tweeted saying: ‘What is wrong with @Sprusofficial on the pitch ? The starting point, for me, is that not enough players have enough pride in their own performance. Forget the badge at the moment, it’s ok with too many of them to lose !!’.

Meanwhile, others took to social media to make light of the situation. One Twitter user wrote: ‘Tottenham are consistent in one thing, disappointing their fans. #THFC’.

Another added: ‘Middlesbrough beat Tottenham. Remember when people were saying United is c**p because they were knocked out with penalties, well this was in open play!’.

Antonio Conte was equally as disappointed with his players after their latest defeat

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte was equally as disappointed in his player – calling for more consistency among his players.

Speaking after the game, the Spurs boss said: ‘In this type of game you have to know the difficulty and you have to kill, in a sporting way, your opponent quickly.

‘We had chances to score but didn’t take them. We gave confidence to our opponent when that happens. Middlesbrough deserved to win the game. I give great them great compliments. But we should have killed the game before extra-time. We gave Middlesbrough life.’

Spurs have now lost five of their last seven matches in all competitions, and Conte said it’s about time his team ‘learn’ from their mistakes.

Conte said: ‘We have to learn from this defeat and continue to work. We have to stop these ups and downs. We have to become stronger. If we want to be competitive then we have to be a stable team. We have to continue to work and know there are three months left of the season to try to get the best results.

‘I have to try to find the right key to go into the minds of the players. I only know one way – to work and persevere. But I can’t hide that there are too many ups and downs. It is a problem, also in the past.’
