Marcel Sabitzer is BACK in Man United training after injury lay-off to hand Erik ten Hag major boost with Casemiro facing a four-game domestic ban… but Antony is absent for Europa League trip to Real Betis

Marcel Sabitzer has returned to the Manchester United squad after a lay-off with injury.

United are short in midfield with Casemiro set to serve a four-game ban following his red card against Southampton at the weekend.

The Brazilian can play in the Europa League, however, when United face Real Betis in the second leg of their last-16 tie on Thursday.

United lead 4-1 going into the game in Spain.

Antony, who scored United’s second goal of the first leg at Old Trafford, misses out through illness, however.

The midfielder’s return is a boost for manager Erik ten Hag, who will be without Casemiro for four games

Casemiro will begin his domestic ban this weekend when United host Fulham in the FA Cup.

He’ll be unavailable until April 15 with an international break to take place following this weekend’s games.

Sabitzer missed the first leg and the draw with Southampton but was spotted at Carrington on Wednesday morning before the squad fly to Spain.

Bruno Fernandes played a deeper midfield role at St Mary’s before Casemiro was sent off, with Scott McTominay coming on for Wout Weghorst following the red to shore up the midfield.

Fred has regularly played next to Casemiro in the United midfield, but it’s unclear what personnel Erik ten Hag will go for while his star man it out.

Antony, meanwhile, has struggled for consistency in his first season as a United player following his £82million move from Ajax.

He was substituted against Southampton and was not present in training on Wednesday, and missed out on the 21-man squad to travel to Spain.

Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford were all smiles at Carrington, with the former likely to start with Antony and Alejandro Garnacho are missing.

Garnacho has picked up an ankle injury and has been spotted on crutches, with fears the issue may be worse than initially feared, though he is facing weeks rather than months on the sidelines.
