Man United star Alejandro Garnacho hastily deletes an Instagram post – and quickly erases a key detail before re-uploading… but it’s spotted by eagle-eyed fans (and unlikely to impress strict boss Erik ten Hag!)

Alejandro Garnacho moved swiftly to remove an Instagram post, after realising he’d shown off an item better hidden, as the Manchester United star watched the club’s FA Cup win over Fulham.

The Argentinian teenager is currently sidelined after picking up an ankle injury in United’s goalless draw with Southampton earlier this month, and was in a watching brief from home for Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final.

Before kick-off, Garnacho posted an image to his Instagram stories showing his set-up to watch his teammates try to book another trip to Wembley.

However, along with the big screen TV and match mementoes on show, appeared to be a green ‘Elux Legend 3500’ vape lying on the sofa. These vapes are banned in the UK as they are over five times the legal size.

The post remained live on Garnacho’s feed for a number of minutes, before hastily being taken down.

Garnacho posted an image on his account and then replaced it with an a new one minutes later

He then posted a near-identical image and message to his account, only this time with the vape removed from view.

It is unclear if the vape belonged to the 18-year-old or somebody he was watching the game with, but it’s an image that will concern United manager Erik ten Hag.

The Elux Legend 3500 is a banned supersize vape but a Mail investigation found it being sold in local corner shops last month.

Ten Has has a strict rulebook at United and has already publicly punished the likes of Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo for breaches, although he has not stated a policy on vaping and smoking publicly.

A source close to Garnacho today suggested the vape was not his and instead belonged to a family member.

Garnacho had last week been spotted in town wearing a protective ‘moon boot’ and on crutches as he enjoyed lunch with friends and family in Hale.

The injury has come at a terrible point in the season for both the club and player, with United still battling in the FA Cup, Europa League and the Premier League’s top four.

While the attacker has established himself as an impact player since breaking into the United first-team this season, impressing manager Ten Hag with his displays.

Garnacho hobbles off with the injury in Manchester United’s goalless draw with Southampton

He’s played in 29 games for the Red Devils this season and scored four goals in a breakout season that has once again seen him receive a call-up to the Argentina squad.

Garnacho would have enjoyed what he saw from his United teammates, as they booked an FA Cup semi-final with Brighton next month.

The win didn’t come easy though, as the game turned on it’s head following a dramatic five minutes in the second half.

Fulham were leading 1-0 at Old Trafford, when United were awarded a penalty following a handball from Willian.

The Brazilian was subsequently sent off for the offence, a decision that irked teammate Aleksander Mitrovic, who in his protest shoved referee Chris Kavanagh and was also shown his marching orders.

Cottagers boss Marco Silva then saw red himself in the aftermath, before Bruno Fernandes drew United level and then Marcel Sabitzer netted the winner with his first goal for the club.
