Kind-hearted Jack Grealish stops to hug a Manchester City fan suffering with cerebral palsy and makes the 14-year-old’s ‘dream come true’ by signing a shirt for her before helping his side reach the FA Cup fourth round

Jack Grealish made a young Manchester City fan’s day by taking the time to sign some shirts for the teenage girl, who is suffering from cerebral palsy.

Before City’s 4-1 FA Cup win over Fulham on Saturday, the England international went over to meet 14-year-old Abbie Pinder and signed two City shirts for her, before giving her a heartwarming hug.

Miss Pinder described meeting Grealish as a ‘dream come true’, while her mother, Zoe, was brought to tears when the £100million City star gave up a minute of his time to meet her daughter.

Grealish wrote on one City shirt: ‘To Abbie, lovely to meet you today beautiful girl. Lots of love, Jack x’

Miss Pinder, from County Durham, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy just before her first birthday and has bravely battled with the illness. It was feared she would never be able to walk but managed to walk out of her wheelchair after turning six.

The 14-year-old also met City defender Kyle Walker after the FA Cup victory over Fulham, with Grealish’s City and England team-mate celebrating the result with her.

A video of the two meeting at the Etihad Stadium showed Walker asking Miss Pinder: ‘You had a nice time? You was lucky. (We went) 1-0 down and then we scored four. We made it exciting.’

Grealish has been known for showing several acts of kindness to young fans during his career.

After the Euro 2020 final in July, which saw England lose on penalties to Italy, the midfielder put the disappointment of the result behind him and gave his match-worn boots to a young England fan named Oliver.

Oliver’s father, Dan, wrote on Instagram at the time: ‘With all the negative, horrible stories going about let’s see if the media post about this amazing, beautiful moment that @jackgrealish did for my son Oliver.

‘Super Jack is an absolute CLASS act on and off the field. Took time with photos with Oliver then asked if he wanted his boots.’

Grealish also took time to pose for photos with Aston Villa fans last summer during a pre-season training camp, just days before completing his £100m move to City, which made him the most expensive English footballer of all-time.
