Brendan Rodgers has accepted he is under pressure as Leicester boss just days after tearing into his players when they were dumped out of the FA Cup by Nottingham Forest.
Still smarting from surrendering their hold on the trophy at the fourth round stage, Leicester face a huge test of their character when they take on Liverpool at Anfield on Thursday.
Rodgers is approaching his third anniversary as Foxes boss and is facing greater scrutiny than at any other time in his reign, with the club 10th in the Premier League and eliminated from three cup competitions.
Brendan Rodgers admits he is under pressure after FA Cup exit to Nottingham Forest
Rodgers believes that he has the full support of the Foxes board despite challenging season
He accused some of his players of lacking hunger after the 4-1 defeat at Forest but the squad are not the only ones under the microscope
‘I have always felt support from the club but I also understand football,’ said Rodgers. ‘I have a great relationship with everyone here but I understand you have to get results, and the one at the weekend wasn’t what we wanted.
‘If you’re not getting results you are always under pressure, I can’t deny that. We’ve had a great run here for a period of time but results like the one at the weekend will always put you under pressure as a manager. I don’t shy away from that.
‘Whatever the context the responsibility is always with the manager. I pick the team and choose the tactics so when we lose it’s my responsibility. You can’t mask results and I’d never try to.

‘I will always protect the players but it’s also important there is accountability among the players. We didn’t perform and we deserve to lose.
‘Whatever happens to me in future the relationships I have with people here don’t change. This year there has been challenge after challenge, due mainly to the players we have missing.’
